About Kaye Barr
Kaye is a registered psychologist with specialist training in psychotherapy. She graduated from the University of Western Australia (1970) with Bachelor of Psychology (Honours). She later completed a Graduate Diploma of Education (1973); Graduate Diploma of Psychology (Counselling) at the Western Australian Institute of Technology (Curtin University) (1984), and an Advanced Diploma in Psychotherapy at the Churchill Clinic ( 2002).
Kaye takes a caring, holistic approach to assisting clients with their personal challenges and provides a safe, non-judgemental environment that assists them to reach their full potential.
Through her studies, employment and life experiences, Kaye developed a deepening interest in:
- states of being that cast a shadow upon our lives – depression, anxiety and the experiences of infertility, grief and loss
- present effects of past experiences, such as growing up with an alcoholic or abusive parent; or having made poor educational choices
- creating healthy relationships
Kaye has a long-abiding interest in Nutrition and its relationship to mental performance, mood and outlook, and the feeling of well-being.
Individuals and couples with personal or behavioural issues are encouraged to make an appointment to obtain assistance to reach a point of healing and understanding.
As a member of the Australian Psychological Society Kaye is bound by the Charter for Clients of Psychologists, which outlines standards for confidentiality and ethics.
